Nightlife

Jeffreys bay has long been infamous for it’s exciting nightlife, and there are a number of clubs and bars to choose from. Most of these can be found along the main street Da Gama- and you can easily go from one to the next all night if your stamina holds up.

One of the favourites with the surfers is The Mexican (a mexican restaurant by day and early evening, and a rocking bar by night).

A bit up the road is Sovereigns, a multi floor club catering to youngsters, but also with a slot machine area downstairs.

Across the road from this is Jolly Dolphin, a club hugely popular with the locals with facilities for the largest crowds in J-bay. Stop in here for an entertaining lesson in some local dance forms.

Next door to Jolly Dolphin is 3 Fat Fish, a great place for a bite to eat and world class cocktails. A bit further down the road is Steve’s 12 Bar Blues Cafe, a great place for fine dining with some superb live bands.

On the Shaloha side of town, and walking distance from the Guesthouse is The Lounge Bar, also popular with the locals and surfers, features a wide range of music styles and genres. If your’e lucky you might catch local DJ Marley D, or the explosive Brazilian live act Napalma.

Next door to the Lounge is the @Work Sports Bar where you can choose from hundreds of classic rock songs on the jukebox or compete in foozeball.

For those that love the idea of an electronic music festival in the forested hills, there’s
Wacky Woods, a venue that hosts a number of great summer parties.

Otherwise, if a relaxing night is in order, sit back and chill around the fire at Shaloha, watch the moon come up and recharge after a long days surf.
